VICIATICO - Bologna
VIDICIATICO Guide

Vidiciatico is a fraction of Lizzano in Belvedere with 714 inhabitants, in the province of Bologna.
Its origins are very ancient, as witnesses to the presence of settlements dating back to the Stone Age and the Bronze Age have been found in Rocca Corneta and La Sboccata dei Bagnadori. However, it is likely that these were not permanent settlements, since the populations were mostly nomadic.
It was with the arrival of the Etruscans, the Ligurians, and the Gaulish Boii that the first permanent and consolidated settlements were formed.
According to legend, its name comes from a bandit named Ciatico who carried out his raids in this very area, or from “Valiciatico,” meaning pass, while another possibility is that it means “place where it is allowed to cut willows,” which still grow abundantly in these mountains.

It is also worth going to the Adventure Park of Monte Pizzo, suitable for both children and adults, where there is a nice acrobatic course, as well as a climbing structure, two cable cars and a bungee jumping platform.
