MEB - JEWISH MUSEUM OF BOLOGNA
MUSEO EBRAICO DI BOLOGNA

The MEB - JEWISH MUSEUM OF BOLOGNA presents the millennia-old history of the Jewish people and the history of Jews in Bologna and Emilia Romagna, with an important documentation center, interactive applications, and a library.
It is located in the area of the former Jewish ghetto, in the sixteenth-century Pannolini palace, owned by the City of Bologna, with a surface area of approximately 500 sq m, divided into three sections over two floors, with the ground floor hosting the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition space, while the documentation center is on the first floor.
The permanent section is fundamentally based on the theme of Jewish identity, tracing the 4000 years of the history of the Jewish people, with two rooms dedicated to the Jewish presence in Bologna and Emilia Romagna, starting from the Middle Ages.
The second section features spaces dedicated to exhibitions, meetings, debates, and educational activities for children, with a well-stocked bookshop where books and memorabilia can be purchased.
The MEB documentation center consists of a specialized library and a cultural and promotional center that collaborates with museums, universities, libraries, and research centers in Italy and abroad.
A dewdrop falls - GRELO staff
For the 2018 European Jewish Culture Day, ahead of a long and important 2018/2019 museum season, artist Grelo presents a new exhibition concept with the installation of three large works within the Permanent Collection of the Jewish Museum of Bologna, accompanied by a performance by actor Michele Tomasetti. The theme is water. The story of three droplets of dew. Purification and inner elevation.
