There's a story of two thousand years for the spas in the territory of Bologna, starting with the emperor Adriano who built the public thermal baths, probably in the Saragozza district.
This tradition continued in the nineteenth century with the Corticella and Casaglia spas were very well-travelled but todays are no longer open.
Nowaday the spas of PORRETTA and those of CASTEL SAN PIETRO, the both with a long tradition as spa resort , are among the most important in this region .
